Description:Word Maze trains a child towards the Singapore Ministry of Education Chinese Language Syllabus as published on the ministry web site. The syllabus currently offered is for Primary 1.
Word Maze is among a series of iOS Apps that teach children towards national standards and syllabuses. The syllabus is retrieved from, and performance data sent to the BuddyME server. BuddyME calculates the probability a child knows a language skill from the data on these servers. The data is used only for the purpose of measuring child progress.
Besides serving syllabuses, the BuddyME server hosts a web virtual world. The games in these worlds are designed for children 4 years and above.
Daily exposure of children to subjects is key for long term memorization; BuddyME motivates children to continue engaging through virtual cash and avatar customization, social status derived from how children learn from one another, and a skillbook App that allows the parent to send encouragements.
BuddyME from a categorical point of view is designed as a Spaced Repetition System (SRS) built ground up to help children learn and read. Since it is designed for children, internet safety has been a key focal point while also preparing children to be versed in IT literacy
